Enhance your homecoming weekend by exploring Syracuse University’s extensive art collection in the newly renovated Open Storage spaces, where additional permanent collection pieces are on display.

The 2011 Senior Class Giving launch will be held Saturday, Oct. 16, on the Quad under the Alumni Relations tent (in front of Hinds Hall, next to the game-day concessions stand) starting at 10 a.m., two hours prior to the kickoff of the Syracuse vs. Pittsburgh football game.

“Wretches & Jabberers: And Stories from the Road,” a new documentary film directed and produced by Oscar winner and twice Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Gerardine Wurzburg, will premiere as part of the 2010 Syracuse International Film Festival.

From one end of campus to the other—and even beyond—Orange Central 2010 brings Syracuse University alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends dozens of ways to reminisce and reconnect.

The Orange Central Showcase further enhances an already exciting week on the Syracuse University campus during the annual Orange Central celebration Oct. 10-17.

This year’s Melvin A. Eggers Senior Award will be presented to Brad Strait ’58, G’60, Ph.D. ’65,

“The Original Art of the Funny Papers” spans the history of the American comic strip.

Beginning at 4 p.m. in Goldstein Auditorium at the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center, the fast-paced, celebratory reception and awards presentation are free and open to the public.

Syracuse University student Christopher Doster ’10, a senior in the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science, will receive the Orange Spirit Award.

The School of Information Studies will be hosting a Homecoming Alumni Career Panel discussion and reception on Friday, Oct. 2.
