The sculpture program in Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) has announced the creation of Sculpture Workshop.

The Onondaga Citizens League will continue its 2009-2010 study on “What Does it Mean to be Green” with a discussion of green buildings on Monday, Jan. 25.

Syracuse University Library Associates presents “Remembering Yankee Stadium,” a lecture by Scott Pitoniak, on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 5 p.m. in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons.

Syracuse University’s La Casita Cultural Center Project is partnering with the New York Council for the Humanities for “Together—Book Talk for Kids and Parents,” a forum for parents and children to discuss books and ideas across generations and language differences.

The 2010 Martin Luther King Unsung Heroes Awards will be presented to four members of the Syracuse University or greater Syracuse communities during the 25th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration.

The annual celebration is among the largest University-sponsored events in the U.S. to honor King.

The University Neighborhood Partnership Committee (UNP), of which Syracuse University is a member, has worked with a local contractor to create a sidewalk snow removal pilot program for a designated area of sidewalk in the neighborhood east of campus. The goal of the program is to provide continuous snow removal on sidewalks to students, faculty, staff and community members living in the area who reside on critical pedestrian traffic routes.

Two professors from the Maxwell School have been awarded a $278,881 grant from the New York State Health Foundation to identify small area variations in health care among the 10 Hospital Referral Regions (HRRs) within New York State.

The fourth annual art exhibit features the work of 25 artists with ties to Upstate New York.
