Scott Pitoniak to present next Library Associates lecture ‘Remembering Yankee Stadium’
Syracuse University Library Associates presents “Remembering Yankee Stadium,” a lecture by Scott Pitoniak, on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 5 p.m. in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons, on the first floor of E.S. Bird Library at 222 Waverly Ave.
Pitoniak, author, longtime sports columnist and 1977 graduate of SU, will discuss the historical, cultural and emotional significance of old Yankee Stadium. Following the lecture and a question-and-answer session, he will sign copies of his book, “Memories of Yankee Stadium” (Triumph, 2008), published before the stadium’s final summer of 2008.
The lecture is open to all. Free event parking is available in Booth Garage, on the corner of Waverly and Comstock avenues, one block from Bird Library.
