In response to social media’s growing influence on society, the School of Information Studies and College of Visual and Performing Arts are setting students to work on the problem of developing new ways for businesses to communicate internally as well as connect with their clientele through interactive, user-driven information technologies.

Syracuse University Alumnus Brandon Steiner ‘81, the founder and chairman of Steiner Sports Marketing, will speak at SU on April 6. The free event will begin at 7 p.m. in Crouse Hinds Hall, Room 010, and will include a book signing of Steiner’s “The Business Playbook–Leadership Lessons from the World of Sports” (Entrepreneur Press, 2003).

Michelle Singletary, nationally syndicated columnist for the Washington Post, will visit Syracuse University on Thursday, April 22, as a guest of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
