“Super Bowl 2021: TV viewing habits, advertising – even watch parties – impacted by COVID-19.”
Dennis Deninger, professor of practice in Falk College and the Newhouse School, was interviewed for The Palm Beach Post story “Super Bowl 2021: TV viewing habits, advertising – even watch parties – impacted by COVID-19.” Deninger, an expert on the Super Bowl, says that events like the Super Bowl are social facilitators, as people always come together to watch the game. Yet, the pandemic has changed that. “This year it’s putting a little bit more of a spotlight on it. They’re not going to try to squeeze people in and make it unsafe and sell more tickets to make more money. They are showing we are responsible citizens in a time of crisis,” says Deninger, who commends the NFL’s handling of the situation.
