Urgent Action Required of Watson Hall Residents

Dear Watson Hall Residents:

As we’ve shared in recent days, confirmed cases of COVID-19 are increasing on our campus, specifically among our students. Given our most recent public health and testing data, in recent days we have noted new COVID-19 cases among Watson Hall residents. As such, we are asking you to take urgent action to safeguard your health and the health of those around you. Here are the steps we need you to take immediately:

1. Report to the stadium tomorrow morning to undergo COVID-19 testing. The stadium testing center opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m. To learn more about steps you should take prior to testing, please review Friday’s message about testing. If you are not feeling well, please stay home and contact the Barnes Center at 315.443.8000.
2. For the time being, please stay in your residence hall as much as possible. Only leave your residence hall to attend class, participate in COVID-19 testing, exercise or retrieve meals.
3. Finally, until further notice, while in your residence hall please stay on your floor and avoid contact with individuals outside your roommate(s) to the maximum extent practicable. In addition, do not congregate in groups inside the residence hall, to include in lounges or other public spaces.

We will continue to communicate with you directly and often as we work through the process of tracking and isolating any possible infection within the community of students residing in Watson Hall.
