Assistant Professor of Food Studies Evan Weissman

Assistant Professor of Food Studies Evan Weissman (from both Falk College and the Maxwell School) conducts research on a topic that impacts every human being: the food system. Weissman’s background is in studying land-use pressure and farmland preservation From the farm to the fork, Weiss conducts research on improving access to food for people living in urban areas. In this latest installment of our research-focused series Innovation Orange, Weissman and his students explain their current research project, which involves food access in Syracuse.

Innovation Orange aims to highlight the insights and ideas pursued by exceptional faculty, to increase campuswide awareness of faculty research and creative work and draw attention to student involvement in shaping it.

Videos will also highlight faculty collaboration and demonstrate connections between scholarship work and current themes in the nation and world. Importantly, each installment will elaborate on the intricate relationship between faculty scholarship and creating a superior student experience.

If you have a research project you would like featured in Innovation Orange, please contact Keith Kobland in the Office of News Services at kkobland@syr.edu.
