College of Engineering and Computer Science

On March 23 at 10 a.m. the College of Engineering and Computer Science will be celebrating the official opening of its Construction Engineering Lab.

Construction engineering students gather outside the new Construction Engineering Lab.

The lab, which was built on South Campus, has been the result of a number of generous donations by alumni and friends of the college. One of the college’s strategic areas of focus has been on incorporating leading-edge teaching pedagogies into the student experience. This new building facilitates the inclusion of hands-on learning experiences into the curriculum, a key component to keeping students engaged in their engineering and computer science coursework.

Hands-on experiences also help differentiate graduates in the workforce because they have had the opportunity to take what they have learned in the classroom and apply it to real-world solutions.

This event is an opportunity to demonstrate the types of activities that will be taking place in the lab as well as thank contributors for their commitment to the advancement of the student experience here at Syracuse University.

Members of the campus community are welcome to join the college in its celebration. Shuttle buses will be leaving College Place at 9:10 and 9:30 a.m. to take guests to the lab for the ceremony.
