Only two days left for Open Enrollment; benefits choices must be made by Nov. 12

The annual period for Syracuse University employees to enroll for benefits or update their current choices, known as Open Enrollment, is currently under way and concludes Nov.12. There is no make-up period after Nov. 12.

OEThis year, for the first time, all benefits-eligible University employees need to participate in Open Enrollment. Individuals who do not participate in Open Enrollment will have their medical, dental and vision benefits waived.

Complete information about the Open Enrollment process, employees’ benefits options, and how to enroll is available at the Open Enrollment website: http://openenrollment.syr.edu.

Computer kiosks are available at Human Resources’ Skytop Office Building to provide additional computer access for online enrollment purposes. Computer access is also available at the ITS public computer labs and e-mail stations across campus. For a complete list of locations with hours, visit http://its.syr.edu/itsmap/index.html.

Human Resources Service Center hours have been extended from 7 a.m.–7 p.m. through Friday for questions about Open Enrollment.

Open Enrollment through MySlice

The Open Enrollment process is conducted online through MySlice, at http://myslice.syr.edu. To access the site, employees need to enter their MySlice NetID and password (For login assistance, visit Information Technology and Services at http://its.syr.edu/netid, or call 443-2677).

Once employees complete the enrollment process in MySlice and click the “FINISH” button, a confirmation statement will be e-mailed to them (a hard copy statement can be requested from Human Resources). Individuals can continue to make changes to benefits selections through Nov. 12, and will receive a confirmation every time the “FINISH” button is clicked. The last confirmation statement received via e-mail represents the final selections, regardless of confirmation statements previously received.

All choices will be in effect from Jan.1-Dec. 31, 2011 (two years for dental).
