University to hold first body image symposium

Syracuse University’s first-ever symposium on body image, “Help Yourself,” will be held Saturday, March 27, from 1-4 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. Students are encouraged to attend.

The event is free. Registration is required and can be made by visiting http://bodyimage.syr.edu by March 25.

Participants will be able to attend two workshops. Topics include “Big Fat Lies,” “Myths and Facts of Eating Disorders,” “How to Help a Friend,” “Incorporating Exercise into Your Daily Life,” “Mindful Eating,” “International Perspectives,” “Natural Effects of Food” and “Love Your Body.”

The symposium is sponsored by BRIDGES, OrangeWrap, SASSE and NEPA, along with the SU co-curricular fee.
