The third annual University Community Harvest Farmers’ Market series will conclude on Friday, Oct. 9. The final market in the 2009 season will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Waverly parking lot on the corner of Waverly and South Crouse avenues. Presented by Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, the markets feature a wide variety of locally grown fruits, vegetables and plants; snacks; condiments; ceramics; and other handmade items. Also on hand is information on healthy eating, sustainable practices and organic farming provided by the Onondaga County Health Department, the SU Sustainability Committee and others.
