University Community Harvest Farmers’ Markets series continues Sept. 25

The third annual University Community Harvest Farmers’ Market series will continue Friday, Sept. 25, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Waverly parking lot on the corner of Waverly and South Crouse avenues. Free parking is available in the University Avenue Parking Garage. For more information, call 443-3608.

Presented by SU and SUNY-ESF, the markets feature a wide variety of locally grown fruits, vegetables and plants; snacks; condiments; ceramics; and other handmade items. There is also information on healthy eating, sustainable practices and organic farming provided by the Onondaga County Health Department, the SU Sustainability Committee and others.

Vendors scheduled for the Sept. 25 market include Abdo’s Garden Market; Belle Terre; Bluetree Studios; Butternut Pottery; Carvel Ice Cream; CSA of CNY; Creekside Meadows Farm; Grindstone Farm; Hafner’s Farm; Heamour Farm; Ma and Pa’s Kettle Corn; Mia Bella Candles; Monarch Farm; Organically Hip; SpaZend Day Spa; Spud Shack; Sundance Farm; Sweetrees Maple Products; Syracuse Soapworks; Timberland Farms; Watson Greenhouse; and Wheels, Bricks & Wedges.

The final market of the 2009 season will be held on Friday, Oct. 9 (no market is scheduled on Oct. 2).
