iSchool to host alumni career panel during 2009 Orange Central weekend

As part of Orange Central weekend, the School of Information Studies will be hosting a Homecoming Alumni Career Panel discussion and reception on Friday, Oct. 2. The panel discussion will be held at 3 p.m. in 111 Hinds Hall, immediately followed by a reception in the social lounge in Hinds Hall.

The panel will feature the following iSchool alumni:

• Marissa Petruno, a 2008 graduate of the B.S. in information management and technology program. Petruno is currently an information specialist analyst at Liberty Mutual Insurance Companies in Portsmouth, N.H.

• Sean Keesler, a 2008 graduate of the M.S. in information management. Keesler is co-founder of, and a consultant at, Three Canoes in Manlius, N.Y.

• Al Sette, a 2002 graduate of the M.S. in telecommunications and network management program. Sette is currently a systems engineer at Cisco Systems Inc. in Boxborough, Mass.

• Tania Phillips, a 1999 graduate of the B.S. in information management and technology program. Phillips is currently a financial services representative and investment adviser representative at Metlife Resources in Kennesaw, Ga.

• Justin Breese, a 2009 graduate of the B.S. in information management and technology program. Breese is an entrepreneur and founder of Congruser in Syracuse.

The event is open to all students interested in networking with the alumni, who will share their experiences in job hunting, as well as lessons learned on the job. The panelists will provide their contact information to attendees and serve as a resource to connect with working professionals.
