Burak Kazaz, the Steven R. Becker Professor of Supply Chain Management in the Whitman School, was interviewed for the CNN story  “These containers used to ship fresh tuna. Now they’ll deliver Covid-19 vaccines.” Kazaz, who also serves as the Executive Director of The H.H. Franklin Center for Supply Chain Management, commented on the supply chains changes due to COVID-19 in order to support the rollout of the vaccine. He says it is essential to keep mRNA vaccines sufficiently cold, therefore causing the need for specific shipping containers.
