Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry will kick off the fourth annual University Community Harvest Farmers’ Market series on Friday, June 11.
The market will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Q3 parking lot on the SU Quad, and it is presented in conjunction with the University’s Strawberry Festival.
The June 11 market will feature a wide variety of locally grown fruits, vegetables and plants; snacks; condiments; and ceramics and other handmade items. There will also be educational literature on healthy eating, sustainable practices and organic farming.
The 2010 series of markets will continue on three Fridays: Sept. 24 and Oct. 8 and 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Waverly parking lot, located at the corner of Waverly Avenue and South Crouse Avenue. For more information on the markets, call 443-3608.
The University Community Harvest Farmers’ Markets began as a pilot project in 2007.
