SYRFILMFEST has announced its lineup of special event programming for October.

Using the arts as its tool, the Near Westside Initiative has commissioned internationally known artist Steve Powers to create a public art project to visually disrupt a physical barrier at the most critical intersection of the Connective Corridor and Near Westside.

The Urban Institute’s Maria Rosario Jackson will kick off a public discussion that explores what makes a city creative on Sept. 10.

Architecture students have brought freedom to local resident through progressive design.

The Summer Festival Orchestra will perform a free public concert at Syracuse University on Monday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center. The following works will be performed: Berlioz Roman Carnival Overture, Shostakovich Prelude in E flat minor, and Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4.

The Orange Orators Toastmasters Club, sponsored by Syracuse University’s Office of Human Resources, has earned the President’s Distinguished Award, Toastmasters International’s highest honor.
