The Interdisciplinary Research Group (IRG) in Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) has announced its 2009-10 fellows.

The School of Art and Design in is presenting “Fresh: First-Year Students in the School of Art and Design Juried Exhibition 2009” at XL Projects, the college’s venue at 307–313 S. Clinton St.

Syracuse Stage will host local Equity auditions, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Dec. 16 and 17.

Visit Bedford Falls this holiday season for a charming stage telling of Frank Capra’s Hollywood classic “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Kala Pierson, a New York City-based composer and sound/media artist, has been announced as the winner of the inaugural Gregg Smith Choral Competition Contest in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Approximately 50 young cellists from across New York State will come to Syracuse on Saturday, Nov. 14, for Cello Fest.

Soprano Julianna Sabol and pianist Kevin Moore, both members of the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music faculty, will present a concert Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 12:30 p.m. in the Everson Museum of Art’s Hosmer Auditorium.

Depiction of African and African American beauty in the media is the subject of a major Syracuse Symposium event.

Syracuse Stage is one of 13 theaters across the nation to receive a grant for future audiences from the New Generations Program.
