Large-scale works created by artists at Lake Effect Editions, the press of the printmaking program at Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, are the subject of the exhibition “Monumental Printstallations” at XL Projects, 307–313 S. Clinton St., Syracuse.

Kola Owolabi, Syracuse University organist and assistant professor in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, will present an organ recital Tuesday, Sept. 7, and Wednesday, Sept. 8, on the historic Holtkamp organ in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College.

The group will perform its all-female version of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” at the Edinburgh festival.

Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) has announced that Ralph Zito, a theater professional in voice, text and dialects who most recently served as the chair of the Juilliard School Drama Division’s voice and speech department, has been named chair of the Department of Drama.

The Syracuse University Summer Dance Intensive program, administered by University College and co-sponsored by SU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, has brought students from as far away as Europe and California to participate in one of the premier dance programs in the United States. Now in its fifth year, the students, ages 12 to 18, have the privilege of studying with internationally acclaimed teachers and guest artists during two- or three-week sessions.

No Child . . ., a nationally acclaimed one-person show documenting a teacher’s struggles and triumphs in New York City’s public school system, will run Sept. 21—Oct. 10 in the Storch Theatre as an off-subscription special presentation in Syracuse Stage’s 2010/2011 season.

Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts will present “white elephant,” its second annual New York City show by master of fine arts degree candidates, June 2-6 at Dumbo Arts Center, 30 Washington St., Brooklyn.

VPA will present its annual fashion show “Vision with Action” in New York City on Thursday, June 10, at 7:30 p.m. at JPMorgan Chase, One Chase Manhattan Plaza, 60th floor.
