Strong receives prestigious educators award from National Press Photographers Association
Bruce Strong, associate professor in the Department of Visual and Interactive Communications at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, received the Robin F. Garland Educator Award from the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA).
Silent auction of original artwork to benefit Ray von Dran Fund

Say Yes Summer Festival in Thornden Park to showcase student achievement
Approximately 1,800 Syracuse City School District children, ages 7-10, who attended one of 12 Say Yes to Education summer camps, will gather in Thornden Park on Wednesday, July 28 for the Say Yes to Education Summer Festival. Students will showcase their work and demonstrate the new skills and talents that they have developed throughout their summer camp experience.

College of Human Ecology to host drug policy forum Aug. 2
Syracuse University’s College of Human Ecology, in collaboration with the New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) and Families Rally for Emancipation and Empowerment (FREE), will host a community forum on a public health and safety approach for drug policy in New York state on Monday, Aug. 2. The forum will take place in Room 304 of the Hildegarde and J. Myer Schine Student Center from 6 to 8 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
