New York state bill advances creation of SU-modeled technology commercialization clinics across New York

The New York State Senate and Assembly passed legislation this June that advances the establishment of technology commercialization clinics at universities across the state, modeled after the successful Technology Commercialization Clinic (TCC) program, launched and based at Syracuse University College of Law.

SU’s recycling program expands

As of July 1, Syracuse University has a new five-year waste removal and recycling contract with Syracuse Haulers. As a result of this new contract, the University has expanded its recycling program to include the recycling of tub-type containers stamped #5 on the bottom, such as yogurt and cottage cheese containers.

Claremont Graduate University appoints Deborah Freund as president

Deborah A. Freund, distinguished professor of public administration and economics at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, has been appointed the 15th president of Claremont Graduate University (CGU). Freund will be the first woman to serve as CGU president and will formally take office in the fall.
