The prestigious International Society for Iranian Studies (ISIS) has named Mehrzad Boroujerdi, associate professor of political science at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University and founder-director of the Middle Eastern Studies Program at SU, as its president-elect. John McPeak, associate professor of public administration at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University, will lead an international, multi-disciplinary team seeking to reduce climate change-related conflicts between pastoralists and farmers in the Senegal and Niger River basins in the West African countries of Senegal and Mali.
