Girls Get It! camp to expose girls to STEM disciplines

Thirty-two middle school girls from the Syracuse City School District (SCSD) have the opportunity this week to engage in exciting engineering and technology projects, learn from leaders in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines, and just have fun at the first Girls Get It! STEM camp at Syracuse University.

The Syracuse University Summer Dance Intensive program, administered by University College and co-sponsored by SU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, has brought students from as far away as Europe and California to participate in one of the premier dance programs in the United States. Now in its fifth year, the students, ages 12 to 18, have the privilege of studying with internationally acclaimed teachers and guest artists during two- or three-week sessions.
