Scott Landes
Scott Landes is an Associate Professor of Sociology in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and a Faculty Associate in the Aging Studies Institute at Syracuse University. Profess Landes specializes in the sociology of disability, medical sociology, and aging. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in the Sociology Department. Before coming to Syracuse University he spent three years as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of North Florida.
Informed by his interest in medical sociology, aging and the life course, and disability theory, the majority of his research focuses on health and mortality trends across the life course for those with developmental disability, and for veterans. His other primary research focus addresses the intersections of intellectual disability and social theory.
Landes received his PhD in Sociology from the University of Florida in 2014.
