Two separate ongoing construction projects around the JMA Wireless Dome will impact pedestrian pathways this summer.
Contractors working on facility repairs adjacent to Gates C, L and M (between the JMA Dome and the Falk College) have closed the stairs in that area. Pedestrians will not be allowed through that area for approximately three to four weeks.
Contractors working on a utility project on Forestry Drive will be closing all pedestrian traffic on Forestry Drive (between the JMA Dome and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry’s Gateway Building), beginning on Monday, June 13. This closure will remain in effect until the start of the fall semester.
All pedestrians traveling to the north side of these work areas will need to cross the pedestrian bridge from the Irving Avenue Garage or use the covered stairs from the intersection of Van Buren and Irving Avenue. The accessible pathway will remain unchanged, up the elevator in the Irving Avenue Garage and across the pedestrian bridge.
All pedestrians traveling to the south side of these areas will need to travel through SUNY ESF’s campus, south of the Gateway Building.
The current ongoing closure of Forestry Drive to vehicle traffic will be complete on Sunday. On Monday, June 13, vehicle traffic will be allowed through the area with a single lane of alternating traffic, controlled by a temporary traffic signal.
