Weekend Preview: UU Birthday Bash | Block Party | The Big Event | Queer Prom

Dear Students and Families:

While the semester may be winding down, I know the next few weeks are still filled with lots of activity. As we look to close out the semester with events and celebrations, I want to once again encourage you to do your part in safely and responsibly socializing. This means upholding our community standards on and off campus; being a good neighbor and being mindful of noise ordinances and property lines; looking out for one another; and maintaining good health practices like washing your hands regularly, not sharing food or drinks and staying home if you are sick.

This weekend we have another exciting schedule of events. The University Union (UU) 60th Birthday Bash is Friday, April 29, on the Quad from 1 to 5 p.m. UU has organized robust offerings, including food trucks, inflatables, giveaways and hands-on activities—creating what will certainly be a memorable experience. Following, UU is hosting the Block Party concert with co-headliners Baby Keem and 2 Chainz, with support from 070 Shake and A-Trak. Also happening this weekend is the largest student-run day of community service, The Big Event, hosted by OrangeSeeds on Saturday, April 30. The deadline to sign up is today.

From interactive events, to music, to volunteering, there are plenty of ways to engage and connect before the semester ends.
