“Proposed congressional maps puts Watertown, much of Fort Drum outside Stefanik’s district”
Grant Reeher, professor of political science and director of the Campbell Public Affairs Institute in the Maxwell School, was quoted in the WWNY story “Proposed congressional maps puts Watertown, much of Fort Drum outside Stefanik’s district.” Reeher, an expert on American politics and democratic representation, explained that redistricting across the state will likely not hurt Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik’s reelection in the Fort Drum despite losing part of the area. “I don’t see Elise Stefanik necessarily losing that district now. She’d still be very difficult to beat. To take that out of her district may be the Democrats kind of sticking it in her eye a little bit,” Reeher said.
