Thomas Keck, professor of political science in the Maxwell School, was interviewed for the WAER segment “Justice Breyer’s retirement is a critical moment for Liberals.” Keck, who serves as the Michael O. Sawyer Chair of Constitutional Law and Politics, is an expert on the U.S. Supreme Court. Keck said that Breyer’s resignation and Biden’s appointment of a new justice could have a long-term effect on the court. “The Democrats need some new and younger justice there to start moving it back in their direction,” Keck said.
