Schedule Your Flu Shot–Patient Portal Open!

Dear Students and Families:

Through Oct. 29, the Barnes Center at The Arch is offering flu shot appointments every weekday to help students meet the flu shot requirement before the start of the spring 2022 semester. You can schedule an appointment for your flu shot now in the Patient Portal using the directions below:

  • Log into the Patient Portal with your SU email and password. (You will be prompted to complete Microsoft’s Multi-factor Authentication in advance of accessing the Patient Portal if you have not done so previously.)
  • Select “Appts” on the main menu.
  • In the drop-down section:
    • Under “Clinic,” select “Health Clinic.”
    • Under “Reason,” select “Flu Shot Clinic Appointment.”
    • Under “Provider,” select “Barnes Center 309 FluShots.”
    • Select “Submit.”
  • Select your appointment day and time.

Upon signing up, you will receive a confirmation to your Syracuse University email with appointment details and needed forms.

IMPORTANT: Please bring your pharmacy benefit card and health insurance card with you to your appointment. The flu vaccine will be billed to your insurance. Most health insurance companies cover the cost of a flu vaccine in full. Students who have a copay or medical charge applied will be billed accordingly. Please know ability to pay will not impact your access to services. If you are actively enrolled in the Syracuse University Student Health Insurance Plan, you do not need to bring your insurance information.

While the Barnes Center is providing flu shot appointments throughout October, students may choose to receive their flu shot through other sources, such as a primary care provider or at a pharmacy. If you get your flu shot elsewhere or you already received a flu shot after Aug. 1, 2021, you must upload proof of your vaccine in the Patient Portal.

Students who already have a medical or religious exemption on file do not need to take any further action. If you need to waive the flu vaccine requirement for a medical or religious reason and do not yet have an exemption on file, please submit a Medical or Religious Waiver form through the Patient Portal.
