Donald Trump Files Lawsuit To Dispute Tax Evasion Charges

Roy Gutterman, associate professor of magazine, news and digital journalism in the Newhouse School and director of the Tully Center for Free Speech, was quoted the Bloomberg News article “Trump Suit Against NY Times, Niece a ‘Stunt,’ Lawyer Says” as well as a piece for the Deadline.

Gutterman discussed this recent lawsuit, saying, ‘Trump is highly unlikely to win anything from the New York Times or its reporters because legal precedent provides extensive protection to news-gathering activities. That applies to things they should not have, including leaked tax records.’
