‘Black Widow’ Bridges Gap in Marvel Cinematic Universe

Kendall Phillips, professor of communication and rhetorical studies in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, was quoted by the Deseret News for the story, “How ‘Black Widow’ came to be and why it is so special.”

Phillips, a professor of pop culture, said that “Black Widow” ‘is a film that will fill the gap between phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.’ He also stated that ‘not all spin-off films, especially ones like “Black Widow,” have succeeded.’
