Dear Students and Families:

For some of you, this is your first time on campus. For others, you may be adjusting to new social settings and experiences as we expand in-person opportunities this year.

As you familiarize or refamiliarize yourself with campus, the Student Experience Resource Guide offers a summary of ways you can connect, find support and stay healthy. I also encourage you to reflect on your experience this past year. You may have started new routines and habits, such as making time for yourself, connecting with smaller groups of friends and trying new things that you will want to continue into this year. However you shape your experience, know that there are plenty of ways to explore, engage and recharge.

Central New York and Syracuse University have so much to offer, especially as we head into the fall season. I encourage you to review all events listed on the University’s events calendar. Pick a couple to attend—some that align with your interests and perhaps one or two that push you out of your comfort zone. Regardless of which events you choose, I’m certain you will enjoy meeting new people and spending time with friends.

This semester will be what you—individually and collectively—make of it. So please, remember, stay safe, stay healthy and do your part. And of course, wear your mask! If you’re unclear about public health guidelines, please visit Syracuse.edu/staysafe.

Until next week’s message…
