Using the Lottery To Incentivize Americans To Get Vaccinated

Rebecca Ortiz, assistant professor of advertising in the Newhouse School, was interviewed for the Sinclair Broadcast story and the USA Today article “COVID: Ohio ‘Vax-a-Million’ lottery may not have worked, study says.” Ortiz commented on the efficacy of using lottery prizes to incentivize Americans to get vaccinated. “It all depends on how you look at the data. That’s been a struggle we’ve been having throughout all this,” she said. “You can look at the same exact data and analyze it differently and get different results, and that’s not wrong.”
