Mark R. Jacobson
As assistant dean for Washington programs in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Mark R. Jacobson oversees year-round academic programs for the school’s D.C. headquarters at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Dean Jacobson is a foreign policy expert and served in Afghanistan as a reserve officer in 2006 and then returned in a civilian role, working as a foreign policy adviser to Gen. Stanley McChrystal and later as the deputy NATO senior civilian representative in Afghanistan.
