Jennifer Karas Montez, professor of sociology in the Maxwell School, was interviewed by WGBH (Boston) for the Innovation Hub podcast story “Your State’s Politics Might Be The Death of You.” Karas Montez, who also serves as the Gerald B. Cramer Faculty Scholar of Aging Studies, has extensively studied the social causes of death and disease. In the podcast episode she discusses how differing state policies contribute to life expectancy rates across different states and the impact of COVID-19.
