Activities for the Weekend of March 18-21 | Health and Safety Reminders

Dear Students and Families:

Although it’s a drizzly, gray day here on the Syracuse University campus, things are looking up for the weekend. We’re expecting temperatures to begin warming up which provides the perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy the sunshine, fresh air and outdoor activities.

As always, I am writing today to share a preview of activities happening this weekend. Before I do though, I want to remind you that our campus is currently experiencing a spike in COVID-19 cases, especially among our students living in residence halls. As such, I cannot stress enough how important it is to exercise vigilance, particularly as it relates to following the Stay Safe Pledge and public health directives. Most importantly, as you make plans for the weekend, please remember these important tips:

  • Wear a mask and if you live in the residence halls, wear two;
  • Do not travel outside of Central New York unless deemed essential;
  • Maintain social distance;
  • Limit gatherings to 10 individuals;
  • Monitor for symptoms and complete the daily health screening;
  • Participate in testing and contact tracing procedures immediately and honestly; and
  • Adhere to all directives from state and local authorities and the University.

Doing these things consistently is the best protection against further spread of COVID-19.
