Patrick Penfield, professor of supply chain practice and director of executive education in the Whitman School, was interviewed by the International Business Times for the article “Alarm Over Chip Shortage Prompts White House Action.” Recently there was a shortage in semiconductors, forcing many American car manufacturers to halt production. Penfield, an expert in supply chains, says there are no real steps that officials in Washington can take to reverse the current lack of semiconductors.
