Then the Late Notices Started Coming.” Nassau, who also serves as associate director of the Office of Clinical Legal Education, says that the IRS notice system has become somewhat of a nightmare experience for many taxpayers during the pandemic. “You might get a letter today that’s dated in October. The whole collection apparatus is screwed up, for the time being,” says Nassau.
