Shelley Kohan, adjunct faculty member in the Whitman School, was interviewed by CNY Central for the story “Is in-person shopping a thing of the past, as millions move online?” Kohan, an expert on the retail industry, says that in-person shopping has also been so successful due to the in-person social interaction. Kohan says that “the biggest challenge when you say shop in-store versus shop online as a general rule, typically more convenient, broader selection, more product assortment, so all of those elements need to be taken into consideration” when rethinking retail practices in relation to the pandemic.
