“No social distancing problems: Professor turns Carrier Dome into what could be nation’s biggest classroom”

Jeff Rubin, associate professor of practice in the School of Information Studies, was featured by Syracuse.com for his use of the stadium as a classroom this semester. The story, “No social distancing problems: Professor turns Carrier Dome into what could be nation’s biggest classroom,” explains how Rubin did not want to teach his 150 person class online this semester for his students, so he came up with an alternative option. “I wasn’t amped up about teaching virtually, so I started thinking like, gosh, there’s only one place on campus that could support social distancing with a class of that size,” says Rubin, and that place was the stadium.
