Robert Thompson, Trustee Professor of radio, television and film and director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the Newhouse School, was quoted in the Associated Press story “For GameStop day traders, the moment they’ve dreamed about.” Thompson, an expert on popular culture trends, is surprised that this type of gaming with the stock market hasn’t happened before. “They figured out how to play the way Wall Street has been playing for a long time,” says Thompson.
