Interim Vice President for Research Ramesh Raina today announced the opening of nominations for the Meredith Teaching Recognition Awards. The program is sponsored by the Meredith Professors to benefit non-tenured faculty members. Its specific goals are to recognize excellence in teaching and to encourage a culture of collegial mentoring among faculty members.
The Teaching Recognition Award Review Committee may award up to seven Teaching Recognition Awards for Early Performance, which come with a $3,000 stipend for professional development. The Committee may award up to two Teaching Recognition Awards for Continuing Excellence, which come with a $10,000 professional development stipend. The nomination checklist and criteria for both awards categories are available on the Faculty Affairs website.
Nominations may be made by any faculty member with the concurrence of the nominee’s department chair and, where applicable, the dean.
Nomination packets are due Feb. 8, 2021. Nominations should be addressed to the Teaching Recognition Award Review Committee and submitted by email as a single .PDF file to Nick Bennett at nsbennet@syr.edu.
