Levy Professor of Law and faculty director of online education in the College of Law, was quoted in the Yahoo News story “How NJ Can Stop The COVID Outbreaks In Long-Term Care Facilities.” Kohn, an expert on elder law, says that COVID 19 pandemic should have served as an opportunity for nursing homes to increase their level of care for residents, but instead it has made existing problems worse. “The nursing home industry has successfully lobbied for policymakers to treat nursing homes as the victims of COVID-19 and not the vectors of it,” says Kohn.
