Brittany Kmush, assistant professor of public health in Falk College, was quoted in the U.S. News & World Reports article titled “Drug Company Trade Group Pushes for More Diversity in Clinical Trials.” Kmush, an expert on epidemiology and vaccines, explains the importance of diversity and inclusion in drug trials, both in terms of science and social responsibility.  “If you don’t include people that are representative of the population you’re giving the drugs to, you won’t really know if they will work in that population,” Kmush says.
