Members of the Council on Diversity and Inclusion Announced

Diversity and Inclusion

Chancellor Kent Syverud today announced the 2020-21 members of the Council on Diversity and Inclusion. The council serves as a resource to our university on critical diversity and inclusion matters, including issues related to campus climate and elevating our inherent strengths.

“The members of the Council on Diversity and Inclusion provide insight, perspective and experience as we work to further build a more welcoming campus,” says Chancellor Kent Syverud. “The council’s charge is an important reflection of our commitment to understand and to take action for the common good of our entire campus community.”

“Our work across campus on matters of equity, diversity, accessibility and inclusion is central to the mission of our university,” says Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Keith A. Alford. “The Council on Diversity and Inclusion is committed to providing the connections that will bring greater understanding among all campus community members and to promoting our shared values that will benefit and enrich all of our experiences on campus.”

The council co-chairs are Paula Possenti-Perez, director, Center for Disability Resources, and Craig Tucker, director, Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program and director, Student Support Services.

Along with Alford and the co-chairs, the members of the council are the following:

  • Tammy Bluewolf-Kennedy, admissions counselor, Native American liaison, Office of Admissions
  • Jorge Castillo, director, LGBT Resource Center
  • Shiu-Kai Chin, Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor for Teaching Excellence and professor of electrical engineering and computer science, College of Engineering and Computer Science
  • Sharon Cole, talent acquisition manager, Office of Human Resources
  • Francine D’Amico, teaching professor of international relations and director of undergraduate studies in international relations, Maxell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs
  • Sean Dorcellus, a senior majoring in broadcast and digital journalism in the Newhouse School
  • James Duah-Agyeman, director, Office of Multicultural Affairs
  • Emily Duke, associate professor, Department of Transmedia, College of Visual and Performing Arts
  • Kathleen Haley, interim director, Internal Communications, Division of Marketing and Communications
  • Brandon Hollie, a graduate student in marriage and family therapy in the Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics
  • Sheila Johnson-Willis, associate vice president and chief equal opportunity and Title IX officer, Office of Equal Opportunity, Inclusion and Resolution Services
  • Cydney Johnson, vice president for community engagement and government relations, Office of Government Relations and Community Relations
  • Brian Konkol, dean of Hendricks Chapel
  • William Myhill, interim director and ADA/503/504 coordinator, Office of Equal Opportunity, Inclusion and Resolution Services
  • Osatohanmwen Onaghinor, a senior majoring in biology in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • Christabel Osei-Bobie Sheldon, director, McNair Scholars Program
  • Teresita Paniagua, executive director, cultural engagement for the Hispanic community
  • Rob Pusch, senior associate director, Project Advance
  • LaVonda Reed, associate provost for faculty affairs and professor of law, College of Law
  • Sweta Roy, a graduate student majoring in bioengineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science and vice president, Graduate Student Organization
  • LeKita Scott Dawkins, director, foundation relations, Corporate and Foundation Relations
  • Marsha Senior, director, Higher Education Opportunity Program, and assistant director, student administrative services, University College
  • Taylor Stover, a sophomore majoring in international relations in the College of Arts and Sciences and the Maxwell School
