Kevin Antshel, professor of psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences, was quoted in the CNBC story “More than 7 in 10 Gen-Zers report symptoms of depression during pandemic, survey finds.” Antshel, a clinical psychologist and the director of the clinical psychology program, says that fear and anxiety often pair with one another, and the pandemic has highlighted this. “The more things are uncertain, the more we’re going to fear, and the more we fear things, the more we are anxious,” which can then lead to depression, says Antshel.
