“COVID Restrictions Threaten to Disenfranchise Nursing Home Voters.”

Nina Kohn, the David M. Levy Professor of Law and faculty director of online education in the College of Law, was quoted by NBC-4 (New York) for the story “COVID Restrictions Threaten to Disenfranchise Nursing Home Voters.” Kohn, an expert on the civil rights of older persons, says that the COVID 19 pandemic threatens the voting system for those in nursing home facilities. “The more complex the procedures are for getting a ballot and returning a ballot, the more likely this population is going to be disenfranchised. I think we should be very concerned that many nursing home residents and assisted living residents won’t be able to vote,” says Kohn.
