“Half of Patients Referred to Home Health Don’t Receive Services — But Providers Can Change That.”
Jun Li, assistant professor of public administration and international affairs in the Maxwell School, was quoted by Home Health Care News for the story “Half of Patients Referred to Home Health Don’t Receive Services — But Providers Can Change That.” A recent study shows that many Medicare beneficiaries who are recommended to receive home health care during recovery never receive the service. Li, who studies Medicare and the American healthcare system, believes that the home health system has remained ineffective for some beneficiaries. “Certainly from speaking with discharge planners, for example, it seems like not much has changed in terms of their ability to track which patients are actually getting home health care,” says Li.
