“‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ Is Set to End in 2021.”

Robert Thompson, Trustee Professor of television, radio and film in the Newhouse School, was quoted in The New York Times story “‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ Is Set to End in 2021.” Thompson, who also serves as the director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture, says that the Kardashians mastered the ability to capture their audience’s attention, as “they managed to take a series of skills, very special skills that they had, that heretofore had not had any particular value, and managed to create a genre of entertainment for which they were perfectly suited.”
