Danielle Rhubart, a post-doctoral scholar with the Maxwell School’s Lerner Center, was quoted by U.S. News & World Report for the story “Hot Weather Health Tips.” Rhubart explains how urban heat is often more intense, as “dense concentrations of concrete and asphalt combined with a lack of vegetation reduce the cooling capabilities of evaporation,” and gives recommendations on what people should do to beat the heat during the pandemic.
