Scott Landes, associate professor of sociology in the Maxwell School, was quoted by Disability Scoop for the article, “Group Home Residents With Developmental Disabilities More Likely To Die From COVID-19.” Landes, an expert on the sociology of disability, says that more severe cases of COVID-19 among those with disabilities “may be more related to the current design of the IDD service system in the United States, in which states rely heavily on providing care in congregate settings with limited support and resources.”
